Leslie LeDonne is a first-time author of the new nonfiction book "Killing Henrietta".

Leslie was born in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, and raised in Southern Maryland, where she still resides with her husband Jeff; two sons, and their families. She holds her faith and family as the most important aspects of her life.

Leslie first learned about the unsolved rape and murder of Henrietta—an event that occurred just two blocks from her beauty school—over 50 years ago. The brutality of the crime, and the fact that it remained unsolved in such a close-knit community, deeply unsettled her. Driven by a need for answers, she spent years conducting her own research, interviews, and “boots-on-the-ground” inquiries. Through her independent investigation, she uncovered new evidence that may not change the official police narrative—but will certainly challenge readers to reexamine the case for themselves.
It was Henrietta’s stolen chance to enjoy the blessings Leslie cherishes—faith, family, and friendship—that propelled her search forward. Henrietta had been robbed of everything that made life meaningful. This injustice ignited Leslie’s relentless pursuit of truth, facts, and evidence. Her strong will and determination gave her the fortitude to confront the painful question: Who was responsible for killing Henrietta?
